Grew up mostly in California - with a four year stint in Saudi Arabia that probably gave me my current wanderlust. B.A. degree in French and English, most of a degree in Graphic Design (don't ask), and working on a Masters in Ed. Worked for a while as a web/marketing person in San Francisco, got bored and went to Germany to learn German (and teach English, as it turned out). Four and a half years after that, having somewhat got German under my belt and a Turk under my skin, I escaped to Turkey with my homesick boyfriend...and here I am in Izmir, off on another adventure! Life has taken a lot of twists and turns since then, but it certainly hasn't been dull.
